Flood is the big question on Staten Island
Much of the East Shore and South Shore, including neighborhoods such as Midland Beach and South Beach, lies in or near FEMA flood zones. Standard property insurance generally does not cover flood. Flood coverage is bought separately, either through FEMA's National Flood Insurance Program or a private flood insurer, and a lender requires it for a building in a Special Flood Hazard Area.
Check your address on NYC's Flood Hazard Mapper or the FEMA Flood Map Service Center, then ask us to quote flood alongside the rest of your program so nothing falls between policies.
